Sharpening stone White Medium #1000

Our bestseller.

It's a stone I've known since my time working in Tokyo and it's also on this stone that I started sharpening. It is a medium grit stone (#1000), affordable and adapts well to all types of steel, an excellent standard for beginners as well as for experienced sharpeners.

The feeling of abrasion is very palpable with this stone. Its surface tends to grip any type of steel well and abrasion is rather rapid. The filings are fine and not sticky.

Her White color makes it possible to clearly visualize the traces of sharpening, and therefore to better discern our gestures. Perfect for rebuilding the edge of a dull knife, but no damaged.

Its white color comes from its raw material, an abrasive called almina white, un aluminum oxide.

Of the vitrified type, it is a stone fired at high temperature, which gives it better resistance to water and consistency over its entirety. We can therefore use it until it is very thin!

The fact that it has no brand means that its price remains very attractive, so that everyone can sharpen with a quality stone and take a liking to it!

Average soaking time (about 2 min., less with use, proportional to its thickness).

Average planing frequency. This is a moderately hard stone, which requires regular dressing.

An advice: always use the same side of the stone, this will leave you with a reference side that is always flat and straight, and a stone which lays flat on your work surface when sharpening.
